Ok here goes:

Question 5. Why organic cotton? It's not polyester! I try to wear all natural fibers: wool, cotton, linen, silk, leather, etc. And stay away from polyester, acetate and so on.

Question 5. I like organic cotton primarily because cotton production is so water intensive, and I'd really like to make a difference. Cotton is my favorite fabric/fiber. Also, kudos on the water based inks!

5. My daughter has taught me that there is a price to be paid for everything, even organic cotton. But I still feel that the positives of the organic approach outweigh the cons. The pesticide issue alone does it for me.

Grown organically. Does not pollute the soil and water used in it's production. Doesn't retain any traces of poisonous pesticides or other things that it is treated with when growing or being made into fabric. Looks nice, feels good.

Question 5. I have never used organic fabric, I grew up on a ranch and then have an associates in crop and soil science. I know pesticides aren't the greatest but I see the side of the typical "farmer". I think it would be interesting to study the facts of the organic growth to the "old ways".

Tap water - it is a common south east asian practice to boil tap water. And drunk when totally cool. Households usually have quite a big stainless steel stove kettle for this purpose. In our home, we boil water twice a day so that we have continuous supply of boiled drinking water.

5. I love natural fibers, but also know that growing cotton (the non-organic way) is one of the most destructive crops. I don't always use organic cotton (I'm a quilter, and the organic options have been limited). But I try to do so as much as I can -- your shop would help foster this for me, I think!

I prefer natural fibers. Obviously organic is a safer, more environmentally conscious way of producing cotton. Pesticides are killing not just the planet but people. They are likely the direct cause of my brother's cancer. (He's fine now, he was 4 when he had it.) It's good to be aware...

Question 2 - No - but I'll be following your blog - I already have too many emails I'm deleting. Thank you in advance for not holding this against me!

Question 3 - Frogs. I have peepers outside my window - and love sleeping to the sound!

Question 4 - Tap water if it's good and doesn't taste soapy or chlorinated! Otherwise - filtered - Bottled is for emergencies...and my body doesn't like sparkling.

Question 5 - I'm already allergic to the cold air. It makes me itch. My youngest daughter has eczema and I nursed her...and my oldest daughter has skin allergies too. There are too many toxins in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. It has to stop.

• Honestly, I wish I could afford to only buy organic cotton, but much like the other better-for-the-planet options, they are more expensive. I try to buy organic cloth, food, etc. when I can, but sometimes it's just not in the budget. Hopefully organic stuff will start being subsidized like the corn industry has, so the choice isn't made already for those of us with a bit less money.
